Chitwan: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has reaffirmed that his party will contest the upcoming elections independently, expressing confidence in a strong victory.

Speaking at a news conference organized by the Press Centre's Chitwan chapter on Sunday, Prachanda emphasized that despite no longer holding the office of Prime Minister, the Maoist Centre has built a solid foundation at the grassroots level. "I have traveled across the country and observed the ground support for our party, which will allow us to win the elections on our own strength," he stated.

Prachanda had previously announced that his party would not form alliances with other political forces, such as the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML), in upcoming by-elections and general elections, as past alliances had diluted the Maoist Centre's identity.

In a separate statement, Prachanda called for unity among political parties, the government, and social organizations to address the challenges posed by recent natural disasters like floods and landslides. He urged all sectors to collaborate in reconstruction efforts.
